Representing the country, Camerata Florianópolis premieres the show 'Aquarela do Brasil' at the Java Jazz Festival.

Representing Brazil, the Camerata Florianópolis takes the stage at the BYD Hall, in the NICE PIK2 complex, this Friday (May 29, 2026), at 7:15 pm, for the grand premiere of the show "Aquarela do Brasil", at the 21st edition of the Java Jazz Festival 2026, in Jakarta (Indonesia).

Under the direction of conductor Jeferson Della Rocca, the concert marks the first of two shows scheduled by the orchestra at the festival. The invitation was based on the orchestra's rich history, with over 1.700 shows in 32 years, and its versatility in blending classical and popular music in its performances.

To ensure technical perfection on the stage of one of the world's largest jazz festivals, the musicians faced an intense routine immediately upon arrival: three consecutive morning rehearsals before the big night, focused on fine-tuning their synchronization with local musician Rega Dauna. Before the rehearsals on the other side of the world, the orchestra performed "Aquarela do Brasil" on three occasions in May: in CIC Theater (in Florianópolis), in Treze de Maio and in Meleiro - in the south of the state.

Due to Indonesia's time zone, which is 10 hours ahead of ours, Friday's show will be taking place at exactly 9:15 AM Brasília time.

Brazilian repertoire on Asian soil

The show promises to enchant the Jakarta audience with a sophisticated exchange between concert music, Brazilian Popular Music (MPB), and jazz. Accompanied by the striking voices of Cláudia Bossle and Sheila Sá, the orchestra will bring to the festival a vibrant celebration of our identity, performing absolute classics such as "Garota de Ipanema," "Tico-Tico no Fubá," "O Trenzinho do Caipira," and "Influência do Jazz."
