We will not start with a specific beach, but with a region that deserves to be highlighted: the Algarve. The familiarity of Portugal Every Brazilian holds the ill-fated three-time Formula 1 champion Ayrton Senna dear in their heart, but few know that, in the final phase of his life, he bought a house in the Algarve. During the "European" season of the sport, the champion didn't have time to come to Brazil, but he also didn't stay in England, the home country of McLaren, his team for six glorious years. Like the English, he preferred the Algarve sun. Furthermore, the Portuguese language allowed him to feel a little closer to home. This will always be an extra factor attracting Brazilians to their "brother country." Naturally, the champion bought a house in one of the most luxurious areas of the Algarve: Quinta do Lago, in Vilamoura – an urbanization developed by the Brazilian businessman André Jordan, whose story could fill an entire article. Senna was later honored, with a street bearing his name near his former home. Which beaches to choose? It has urban beaches, such as Albufeira or Praia da Rocha (Portimão), but it also has almost deserted beaches, such as Barreta or Fuzeta, in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, in Faro. It has beaches with a casino (Vilamoura, Monte Gordo and the aforementioned Praia da Rocha) and beaches that, while not being urban, have great beauty and are close to the city; this is the case of Praia de D.
