This Friday, at 20:30 PM, at the Ademir Rosa Theater (CIC) in the capital city, the Camerata Florianópolis will present the "Japan Concert," created in 2025 to celebrate 130 years of friendship between Brazil and Japan. Tickets are on sale at the Blueticket website and at the Camerata's headquarters.
Conceived as part of the Japan-Brazil Friendship Exchange Year program, the concert originated as a celebration of the historical relationship between the two countries, established in 1895, and has solidified as a project that promotes cultural dialogue through music. The premiere, in July 2025, filled the CIC theater, whose entrance hall featured a display of works and traditional Japanese cultural artifacts – an experience that will be repeated this Friday.
On stage, under the direction of conductor Jeferson Della Rocca, the orchestra will be accompanied by opera singer Masami Ganev, singer and shamisen instrumentalist Felipe Hirono, and the Japanese taiko drum group Shimadaiko. The arrangements are by Alberto Heller.
The show features a repertoire that blends traditional Japanese music with contemporary anime soundtracks from Studio Ghibli, bringing elements of Eastern culture closer to the Western sound of the orchestra.
With executive production by Maria Elita Pereira, the "Japan Concert" is sponsored by Fort Atacadista.
