O Museum of Image and Sound of Santa Catarina (MIS/SC) receives the exhibition "Carnival, carnivals", bringing together photographs and videos by various artists to explore different perspectives on the phenomenon of carnival. The exhibition presents four distinct approaches: "The Marriage of Dionysus and Apollo", by Eneléo Alcides, which reveals the work and discipline behind the scenes of the parades; "Olorum", by Alceu Bett, which deals with religiosity in the Joinville carnival; "Arqueologia do Carnaval", with classic texts organized by Raul Antelo; and "Carnafilias", which documents the diversity of revelers on the streets of Florianópolis. The curators are Eneléo Alcides, Fernando Albalustro and Raul Antelo.

The exhibition seeks to reflect on the complexity of Carnival, which involves both sacred and profane manifestations, luxury and improvisation, leisure and exhausting work. According to Eneléo Alcides, the event transcends mere festivity, becoming a space for multifaceted cultural expression. The images and videos capture the intensity of the celebrations and the contrasts that mark this tradition, reinforcing its relevance as Brazilian cultural heritage.

Open to the public until March 23, with free admission from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 21 pm, the exhibition features renowned artists from different visual areas. Among the exhibitors are Alceu Bett, filmmaker and photographer with an international career; Diorgenes Pandini, journalist and award-winning photographer; Eneléo Alcides, researcher and cultural curator; Fabrício Tomazi, architect and visual artist; Fernando Albalustro, color researcher and carnival designer; Joyce Mussi, visual artist with extensive experience in photography; and Raul Antelo, professor and researcher in literature and arts.
