Carnival: Ponte Fanfare Parade 2026

! - This event/schedule has already happened - !

After two outings that transformed everyday urban life into spaces for meeting and socializing, the Bridge Fanfare The final act of the 2026 street Carnival will take place this Tuesday, February 17th. The procession, which will travel through the center of Florianópolis, reaffirms the group's commitment to the cultural occupation of the territory and to the collective construction of the world's most popular festival.

The gathering begins at 8:30 am in Bugio, in the central region of the city. The parade is scheduled to depart at 9:30 am, following a route through the East Center, passing along Hercílio Luz Avenue, bringing together musicians, revelers, residents, and workers in a morning dedicated to Carnival as a vibrant, democratic, and accessible cultural expression.

More than just a musical parade, the Fanfarra da Ponte (Bridge Fanfare) offers an urban experience. With each performance, street corners, sidewalks, and avenues transform into meeting points and spaces for artistic expression, strengthening street Carnival as part of Florianópolis' contemporary cultural identity. The music interacts with the city's rhythm, broadens access to culture, and encourages spontaneous encounters.

Throughout Carnival, the group traveled to different regions of the capital, bringing together more than 6 people. The closing event holds special significance, marking the return of the celebration to the heart of the city and consolidating the dialogue between art, public space, and the community.

For Ricardo Lagartixa, professor and conductor of the Ponte Fanfare, Tuesday's parade represents not only the closing of this year's program, but the result of work done with effort and a lot of love. “Ending Carnival in this way is very significant for us. The parades showed the power of music in the streets and the joy of seeing so many people walking together, accompanying, singing, and recognizing themselves in this collective movement. Each parade confirmed that the city responds when culture occupies public spaces, and this gives us even more energy to continue building future Carnivals.”

Composed of musicians, educators, and artists, the Fanfarra da Ponte maintains continuous musical and cultural training activities throughout the year, expanding access to music and strengthening the relationship between art and the urban territory. During the Carnival period, this work gains even more visibility; musicians, teachers, and students from the Escola Popular da Ponte connect with diverse audiences and reaffirm the street as a legitimate space for cultural creation.

Tuesday's performance officially concludes the 2026 street Carnival program, leaving as a legacy the sensitive occupation of the city, the appreciation of popular culture, and the continuity of a project that continues to forge new paths for the coming years.
