The Samba de Terreiro Project will perform at Escadaria do Rosário just a few days before Carnival. It will be the last performance of January, in which songs that date back to the beginning of samba schools in Brazil will be sung. Next Tuesday, January 30th, from 18pm to 20pm, the already traditional samba circle hopes to gather its loyal audience in the center of Florianópolis. Entry is free and anyone who wishes can make a spontaneous contribution.
Since January 2017, Samba de Terreiro has been occupying public spaces in the center of Florianópolis, offering free culture. The project is a meeting of samba dancers and opinion makers in the area of the history of old school samba. Musicians sing in samba circles the story of Samba de Quadra, or also known as Samba de Terreiro. It is a great effort by musicians, the Copa Lord Old Guard, researchers and samba lovers to put an important part of Brazilian cultural identity on the streets. The presentations always take place at events open to the public, which take place at times that are easily accessible to the city's population.
