O CineSonora Film Club is back next Wednesday, May 14th, at 05:19 pm, on Film Gilberto Gerlach do Integrated Culture Center (CIC), with the screening of the documentary “Me Chama Que Eu Vou”, by Joana Mariani, which records the biography and artistic trajectory of the iconic singer and dancer Sidney Magal. The screening of the documentary is in partnership with the IN-EDIT Brasil festival and the Museum of Image and Sound (MIS/SC) and will have LSE subtitles on the screen, and a sign language interpreter during the conversation. Admission is free with tickets distributed one hour before the screening.
With many archive images and testimonies from Magal himself and his family, the documentary reviews the ups and downs of the career of this unique and popular artist – with several hits such as “Sandra
Rosa Madalena” and “Meu Sangue Ferve Por Você” -, revealing the divisions between the common man Sidney Magalhães, and the idol and sex symbol Sidney Magal. The post-session chat will feature as a guest singer, composer, DJ and music researcher, Jean Mafra, who also presents his own work in the opening Santa Catarina music video, with the song “7o Dia”.
