On May 20th, at 19pm, the Multimedia Room of the Image and Sound Museum of Santa Catarina (MIS/SC), at the Integrated Culture Center (CIC), will host another edition of the Africa in Cinema Film Club. This month, the film "Lamb" will be shown, with free admission. After the screening, the team leading the project will hold a discussion about the film and related topics.

The Africa in Cinema Film Club is one of the university outreach activities promoted by the Laboratory for Studies in African History (LEHAf) at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). The project's overall objective is to promote film culture with an emphasis on films by African directors, African productions and filmed in Africa. It aims to promote the artistic and cultural wealth of the African continent through the screening of films and to promote conversations and debates about African film production and representations of Africa in cinema. Meetings are held monthly and are open to the general public.

Africa in Cinema is curated by researchers Alex Brandão, Leonardo Breda and Renata Dariva from LEHAf/UFSC, a laboratory coordinated by Prof. Dr. Sílvio Marcus de Souza Correa. The film club has institutional support from the Alliance Française of Florianópolis and the Santa Catarina Culture Foundation (FCC), through the Museum of Image and Sound of Santa Catarina (MIS/SC).
