Two films directed by women, with several Oscar nominations, are premiering exclusively at the Paradigm Cine Arte this week, and promise to hold the attention of moviegoers from start to finish. 'Vidas Passadas', directed by Celine Song and 'Anatomy of a Fall', directed by Justine Triet, will continue until January 31st, at 18:30 pm and 20:40 pm, respectively.

The Oscar nominations for 'Past Lives' were in the categories of Best Film and Best Original Screenplay; The drama follows the story of Nora (Greta Lee) and Hae Sung (Teo Yoo), two childhood friends with a deep connection, as well as a lost passion. Nora's parents decide to move from South Korea to Toronto, Canada. Twenty years later, the two friends meet again in New York, confronting notions of destiny and understandings of affection.

'Anatomy of a Fall' received nominations for Best Film, Best Direction, Best Actress, Best Original Screenplay and Best Editing, in addition, it won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Festival. In the plot, Sandra, a German writer, and Samuel, her French husband, live together with Daniel, the couple's 11-year-old son, who is visually impaired, in a small, isolated town in the Alps. When Samuel is found dead, the police start to treat the case as an alleged homicide, and Sandra becomes the main suspect and faces a moral dilemma with her son as the only witness. It is also a film about trials that go beyond the courts, and take place in environments such as the internet, which often lead to major repercussions in real life.
