National launch of “A Beautiful Life” in Florianópolis

“A Beautiful Life” (in French, Le dernier souffle), the new film by Costa-Gavras, an Oscar and Palme d'Or winning director, will be released in cinemas on July 17th, by the distributor Filmes do Estação, in several capitals, one of them being Florianópolis.

According to the synopsis released, the French film is based on the book by journalist and essayist Régis Debray and doctor Claude Grange, and features the meeting between a renowned philosopher Fabrice (played by Denis Podalydés) and Dr. Augustin (played by Kad Merad), a doctor specializing in palliative care.

The film participated in the Official Selection at the San Sebastian Festival and the World Panorama Showcase at the Rio Festival, both in 2024.
