The new season of the CineSonora film club premieres on Wednesday, April 29th, at 7:30 PM, at the CIC Cinema in Florianópolis, with the screening of the documentary Lô Borges - Toda Essa Água, by Rodrigo de Oliveira and co-directed by Vania Catani.
"Toda Essa Água" (All This Water) is the title of a song from the first solo album of the Minas Gerais singer-songwriter Lô Borges, who passed away in 2025. The film is driven by interviews with the artist, testimonials from collaborators, and covers part of his more than 50-year career. Lô was one of the founders of the legendary Clube da Esquina alongside Milton Nascimento, and is considered one of the most influential composers in Brazilian music, author of songs such as "Um Girassol da Cor do Seu Cabelo" (A Sunflower the Color of Your Hair), "O Trem Azul" (The Blue Train), and "Paisagem da Janela" (Landscape from the Window).
The opening will feature a screening of the mini-documentary and music video "Pelas Ruas das Américas" by the band Outros Bárbaros, a track that gives its name to the artist's recently released new album. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A session with guest Maurício Peixoto, vocalist and guitarist of the band.
The CineSonora film club is partnered with the IN-EDIT Brasil festival and the Museum of Image and Sound (MIS/SC). The screening will have LSE subtitles on screen, and a sign language interpreter during the discussion. Admission is free, with tickets distributed one hour before the session.
This is the first of 10 sessions in the third season of the film club, created in 2024, which has a history of 25 screenings of musical documentaries. In 2025, the CineSonora Film Festival was also held, featuring more than 60 films about music over five days at the Integrated Culture Center, reaching an audience of over 1.000 people.
