This Friday, March 8th, at 19pm, takes place at Santa Catarina Art Museum (MASC), the second event celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Santa Catarina Art Museum, to be held, intentionally, on International Women's Day. To celebrate, MASC presents something new, the exhibition-projection concept, in addition to the concert by the Ilha String Orchestra.
The “Female Suffrage” concert is a tribute to women composers, from Fanny Mendelssohn to Chiquinha Gonzaga, presenting works from different eras and styles that demonstrate the presence of women as composers in the field of Music.
Representing the field of Visual Arts, there will be the projection-exhibition “Da Essência e da Existencia Feminina no Acervo do MASC”, curated by Maria Helena Rosa Barbosa and Ana Paula Weschenfelder, which is characterized as a generational cut with a focus on the representation of artists women in the museum's collection, including those born until 1949 – the year MASC was officially created.
