The Victor Meirelles Museum (Ibram/MinC) hosts, from May 13 to 17, 2024, the international Congress 100 years of surrealism: image, dream and hallucination, promoted by the Postgraduate Program in Literature at the Federal University of Santa Catarina and the Center for Benjaminian Studies (PPGLit/UFSC). Conferences, concerts, film screenings, lectures by national and international guests and presentations on the topic are part of the program, available for consultation and registration on the website https://surrealismo100anos.wixsite.com/2024.

More than celebrating a century since the founding of the surrealist group (the movement's artists were averse to any such celebration), the congress proposes a contemporary reading of its manifestations and invites participants to address the topic. The event has the support of the University of La República Uruguay, the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and Università Ca' Foscari Venezia.
