Starting on October 31st, at 18pm, the Santa Catarina Public Library will host the photography exhibition “Canoas de Garapuvu – As Senhoras da Praia”, featuring works by Mara Freire and Ronaldo Andrade. The exhibition will run until November 30th and is open to the public free of charge from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 19pm, in the BPSC entrance hall.
Under the autumn light, they inhabit the sands, in a persistent wait. They sprout from the ground in the shape of a tree, and through the skillful hands of craftsmen, handling the gouge encho, they assume the shape that allows them to sail the waves, propelled by the skill of skippers, rowers and weightmen. These are the Garapuvu canoes: canoes made of a single trunk, used for mullet fishing.
In this Photo Exhibition, they go to the Santa Catarina Public Library, participating in the festivities of the house's 170th anniversary. The photographs of Mara Freire and Ronaldo Andrade, residents of Campeche, show their art, that of photography.
