Visual artist and poet Rodrigo de Haro, who passed away in 2021 at the age of 82 in the city of Florianópolis, was the artist chosen to be honored in the second edition of the exhibition “Mínimas Múltiplas Incomuns”. Promoted by Helena Fretta Galeria de Arte, the exhibition presents works by contemporary artists and in each edition pays tribute to renowned artists who contributed to the history of visual arts in Santa Catarina. The opening of the exhibition, which has free admission, will be at 18:30 pm on Tuesday, December 3.
According to gallery owner Helena Fretta, the artist, who was born in France and lived most of his life in the capital of Santa Catarina, left a great legacy for Santa Catarina art. “Rodrigo has a unique style and his work is immediately recognizable. And visitors will be able to see up close some small and medium-sized works from the gallery’s collection at the exhibition,” highlights Helena.
In addition to the honoree, the collective exhibition will present more than 40 works by 32 contemporary artists represented by the gallery and from cities in Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo and Paraná.
“Minimal, Multiple, Uncommon”, which will close the gallery’s exhibition calendar in 2024, aims to showcase small-scale works of art by artists who usually present large-scale works, including canvases, panels or even sculptures. All works in the exhibition will be available for purchase.
The artists participating in the second edition of the show are: Adriana Füchter, Antônio Vargas, Beatriz Harger, Beta Monfroni, Betinha Trevisan, Boris Kossoy, Cassia Aresta, Clara Fernandes, Dirce Körbes, Giovanna Nucci, India Filipin, Ilca Barcellos, Jair Martins, Jairo Valdati, Janaina Corá, Janor Vasconcelos, Joyce Mussi, Kamilla Nunes, Leandro Serpa, Letícia Cardoso, Lindote, Luciana Knabben, Luciano Boletti, Lucila Horn, M. Salette, Marau, Meg Tomio Roussenq, Rodrigo Cunha, Rubens Oestroem, Sara Ramos, Susana Bianchini and Yara Guasque.
According to Helena, one of the main features of the gallery, which is one of the pioneers in Santa Catarina, is the diversity of works, whether paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures and sculptural objects in different techniques. The main focus is on art produced in the state.
“This exhibition will be no different. The works will be diverse and all in small formats, respecting what each artist intends to do. It is as if each of these works were a small jewel, which we can keep in small spaces, but of great importance”, adds the gallery owner.
The exhibition can be visited free of charge until December 23 at the gallery located at Rua Presidente Coutinho, 532, downtown Florianópolis. Visiting hours are Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 18 pm and Saturdays, from 10 am to 13 pm.
