The passage of time, nature, and the relationship between what is ephemeral and what remains are the starting point of "Eternals of the Earth", an unprecedented exhibition by artists Miu and Pedro Caetano, curated by Meg Tomio Roussenq. The exhibition opens on Wednesday (7), at 19 pm, at Berlin Gallery.
Featuring bronze and ceramic sculptures, photographs, video, and an earth installation, the exhibition brings together works produced over approximately a year and a half. Some of them originated from experiments with... land artSome interventions are carried out in the sand of beaches and in the snow, while others explore the transformation of matter by fire and the permanence of bronze.
In total, the exhibition will have 16 bronze sculptures, three ceramic sculptures, eight large-format photographs, and approximately 20 smaller photographs. In addition to a suspended photographic lamp and an earth installation that will occupy the center of one of the gallery rooms.
The exhibition layout is divided into three environments, each with different atmospheres. The earth installation in the second room creates a space resembling a flowerbed, where sculptures seem to emerge, rest, or sleep upon the material. A video by Pedro Caetano also follows Miu's creative processes, from working with clay to the outdoor interventions.
