Unprecedented exhibition reflects on gender dissidences in contemporary art

Artist Joana Goulart presents her first solo exhibition, “There is a lot of passion and hardship until they find the cure”, at the BADESC Cultural Foundation, in Florianópolis. The opening takes place at Thursday, June 5th, at 19:XNUMX p.m., with free entry.

Curated by Gabriel Bonfim, the exhibition brings together 12 works that transit between performance, video, photography, text, silkscreens, embroidery, paintings and installation objects. The project was selected by the Public Call Paulo Gaiad – First Solo and is born from an excerpt from the text The Night of Visions ( The Last Feast of Popular Unity) Of Pedro Lemebel.

The exhibition proposes a sensitive and powerful reflection on desire, identity and gender dissidences in contemporary art and society. For Joana, exhibiting at the Paulo Gaiad space represents an important milestone in her artistic career.

The exhibition will be on display until 24 July 2025, with free visitation of Monday to Friday, 13am to 19pm, and to Saturdays (until July 26th), from 10am to 16pm.
