Exhibition 'What I See Is the Alley', at the Badesc Cultural Foundation

Based on the poem "The Alley" by Manuel Bandeira, the exposure "What I See Is the Alley"It proposes a shift in perspective: from the broad horizon to the narrow, everyday, and often invisible space. Curated by Kamilla Nunes, the exhibition occupies the garden of..." Badesc Cultural Foundation.

Bringing together works by Bruna Granucci, Diane Spagnuelo, Gustavo Scheidt, Jessica Pellegrini, Mariana Colin, OTropicalista, Raquel Stolf, Sara Ramos, and Tainá Sant'ana, the exhibition will present works that challenge the idea of landscape and highlight its layers of dispute, memory, and presence. The artists' propositions, which include objects, installations, interventions, and sound and visual experiments, invite the public to a situated gaze, attentive to the frictions between body, city, and territory.

The curator explains that Manuel Bandeira's poem serves as a starting point for questioning the idealized, expansive, and harmonious landscape often associated with the horizon. In contrast, the alley emerges as a metaphor for lived space: narrow, residual, marked by limits and by that which one often chooses not to see.

Installed in the garden, the exhibition creates an encounter between two symbolic spaces: the alley and the garden. The first draws attention to what is marginalized; the second introduces the temporality of cultivation, permanence, and slow transformation. At this intersection, the works of the ten artists will construct paths, interruptions, and presences that broaden the perception of the landscape as a living, political, and shared territory.
