Selected in the Public Call for Espaço Paulo Gaiad – 1st solo exhibition at Fundação Cultural Badesc, in Florianópolis, the artist from Santa Catarina Gustavo Scheidt opens the exhibition Paisagens Internas, the first solo exhibition of his career, from 19pm on Thursday, March 14th. Entry is free.
Curated by Raony Robson Ruiz and Miguel Vassali, the exhibition has a specific focus on the landscapes of the interior of Santa Catarina. In the exhibition, the artist observes these landscapes as something internal, subjective and seeks to share the sensitive and create other representations of the imagination of Petrolândia, his hometown.
Completely new, the exhibition presents 24 works that have been produced since 2021, the year in which the artist began the Degree in Visual Arts at the State University of Santa Catarina (Udesc).
Internal Landscapes is composed of paintings and engravings that present techniques that differ from each other. In the engravings it is possible to see works with xerox, transfers, monotype, linear and subtraction, while in the painting the supports are paper, canvas, eucathex, raffia bags and sleeping pillowcases.
