Meet the finalists:
Fran Favero is a visual artist and curator. She holds a master's degree in visual arts from Udesc, as well as a degree in visual arts and biology. She researches the relations of borders that permeate territories, bodies and memories. Along these lines, he works in the field of multimedia, including productions in photography, video, artist publications and installations. He has already exhibited individually and in group shows in spaces such as the 14th Curitiba International Biennial, at the Santa Catarina Art Museum (Masc). She is a collaborating professor at the Department of Visual Arts at Udesc. Her work involves the notions of transdisciplinarity and intermedia as central elements of her practice. The word as a triggering concept is also recurrent in her work. The crossing and possible relationships between territory, body and word (languages) are recurrently present in her productions.
Diego de los Campos: is a visual artist born in Uruguay and based in Florianópolis since 1999. He has participated in several contemporary art salons, including those in Piracicaba, Ribeirão Preto and Arte Pará, among others. He has already exhibited individually at the Victor Meirelles Museum and at Masc. He was nominated in 2019 for the Pipa Award and, in 2020, he was selected in Rumos Itaú Cultural 2020-2021. Since 2010, he has been a member of the Coletivo Artístico Nacasa, where he maintains a studio and teaches multimedia art courses. His work seeks to re-signify the discarding of society. Survives and reuses objects, or part of them, by putting them in motion. The proposal is to generate an internal movement of thought that brings into play latent contradictions in ways of seeing the world. In this sense, from objects and materials intercepted on their way to the garbage, he creates structures that contain representations of human bodies, for example. De los Campos creates and programs circuits that use sensors and microcontrollers. His search is for the aesthetic result to be a combination of elements without hiding or disguising the functions of each part.
Gabi Bresola: is recognized for its work with research and publications by artists and for the co-organization of the Flamboiã fair. At the academy, she holds a master's degree in Visual Arts from Udesc. Since 2012 she has held exhibitions and publications and is mainly dedicated to the development of cultural projects in the visual arts and cinema by Ombu Produção. She has also acted as curator of exhibitions, including Interior, Veranda e Low floor. Individually, he has exhibited in Florianópolis, Itajaí and São Paulo. In cinema, she directed the short Thinning and produced films like Antoinette e Documentary. His work as an artist involves research on geopolitical issues from the mediation between the culture of the interior and the colonial implications. In this sense, she proposes discussions that intertwine empirical and formal knowledge from her rural and academic background.
