Exhibition “Street Feelings” by Jairo Cardoso

Shopping Itaguaçu hosts the exhibition "Street Feelings" by photographer Jairo Cardoso, at the Itaguaçu + Arte gallery. The free exhibition is open to the public until September 2nd, on Floor L2, close to Detran. The collection is made up of street photographs that capture ephemeral moments, full of emotion Each image presents three perspectives: the photographer, who saw the scene; the viewer, who observes the photograph and the people portrayed;

Inspired by Henri Cartier-Bresson's concept of the "decisive moment", Jairo captures instantaneous and emotional moments on the streets of cities in the Americas and Europe. His street photography technique combines elements of photojournalism and artistic aesthetics in a way that inspires reflection and stimulates the imagination of viewers. The images invite the public to contemplate the invisible stories and feelings captured in everyday urban life, exploring questions such as "who is the person?", "where are they going?" and "what do you think about?". The exhibition seeks to provoke and, at times, disturb, by presenting a sincere and sensitive view of street life.

Born in Florianópolis, Jairo Cardoso graduated in Law and Journalism from UFSC. He has presented several exhibitions, including "Andanças" (Café Sorrentino, 2014), "Instantâneos" (Varal da Trajano, 2015 and 2022), "Snapshots from New York City" (Tralharia, 2016), "Fatto in Italia" (Tralharia , 2017), "Callejeras de España" (Tralharia, 2018) and "New York Feelings" (Tralharia, 2019). In 2024, he launched "The Studio of Ethereal Vices – A Hedonist Manifesto", published by Editora Giostri in São Paulo.

The Itaguaçu + Arte Project honors and promotes local artists curated by Ateliê Chris Ribeiro Produções at each monthly exhibition. The exhibition is open for viewing on Floor L2 of Shopping Itaguaçu, with free access. For more information, check out the mall's social media.
