Another Children's Film Festival is coming up in Florianópolis, one of the longest-running festivals of its kind in the country. The 23rd edition begins this Friday, the 11th, and runs until October 19th, when it will return to the Centro Integrado de Cultura (CIC) – where it began in 2002 – and to several other venues in the city, including more than 150 schools in the municipal network. The Festival presents a portrait of childhood and cinematography in Brazil and other countries, and will also discuss the Brazilian audiovisual market.
The program includes over 80 films, including national and international short and feature films, small stages with musical performances, book launches, audiovisual workshops for children and a script consultation for filmmakers, in addition to bringing together important names from the Brazilian audiovisual market. This year, the Mostra will bring the unprecedented show Bailamos, by the group Tiquequê (SP), for the closing, when the winning short films will be announced. After the movie sessions, free popcorn will be offered.
Inclusion and access to audiovisual productions have been among the main proposals of the Festival since its first edition. This year, the program includes films accessible in LIBRAS (Brazilian Sign Language) and also sessions with audio description.
