In yet another edition of the Great Mystical Ball Allegorical Parade, Santa Catarina Island will celebrate and be enchanted by the fantastic universe of local culture and its magical beings of witches, boitatás, vacatatás, werewolves, pirates, ghosts, lacemakers, mermaids and immortal characters. The event that brings together magical revelers will take place on October 25th and will go through some streets of the historic center of Floripa in a spring carnival atmosphere.
The allegorical procession is part of the Mystical October program, held by the Museu da Escola Catarinense (MESC), the main host of this edition, and includes the Mystical October Film Festival, with the support of Funcine, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, in addition to the traditional parade of the enchanted beings that inhabit the capital. The program is free and open to the public.
O Mystical Dance Procession will begin at 17 pm, in front of MESC, and will walk through some streets in the city center, stopping in front of the Cathedral, in Praça XV, and return to MESC to the sound of lots of music and percussion. The proposal is inspired by the legend Witches' Ball in Itaguaçu, authored by Gelci José Coelho - Peninha, disciple of Franklin Cascaes, who died in 2023, and Witches' Ball Inside a Fishing Net, from Franklin Cascaes himself.
