The opening of “The Magic of Being a Child” will take place tomorrow (8), from 17 pm to 20 pm, at the Museu da Escola Catarinense (MESC), in downtown Florianópolis. The exhibition will be the first solo show by artist Luiz de Souza in the capital. Curated by Renato Andreuchetti, the exhibition will be at MESC from October 9 to 27, and will present a series of oils on canvas with the artist’s main theme: childhood and the imagination. The aim is to bring children closer to art and introduce artistic vision in the month dedicated to them. The opening and the exhibition are free and open to the public.

Born in Lauro Muller (in the south of Santa Catarina) and with paintings spread throughout the United States and Europe, Luiz de Souza was inspired by his childhood in the city to create paintings that explore imagination and fantasy, personified mainly in the figure of the clown (a recurring character in the works).
