Artist who won the 2025 PIPA Prize participates in a free event in downtown Florianópolis

The visual artist, art educator, and teacher. Andrea Hygino, winner of PIPA 2025 Award, participates in a public conversation on Museum of the Santa Catarina School (Mesc/Udesc) on Friday (07/08), at 18pm. The meeting, in Mutations Room, is part of the programming of Artistic Residency: Undisciplined Archives It will explore the artist's career, her creative processes, and the research she has developed through immersion in the institution's historical collection.

Visual artist, art educator, and teacher, Andréa develops research related to the school environment and the processes of learning, discipline, repetition, training, and disobedience. During the conversation, she will present aspects of her trajectory and the issues that guide her work. She will also share impressions, approaches, and questions that arose during her immersion in the MESC collection.

Andréa holds a bachelor's degree in Visual Arts from UERJ and a master's degree in Visual Languages from PPGAV/EBA/UFRJ. She has participated in residencies, exhibitions, and projects at institutions in Brazil and abroad. She received the 3rd SeLecT Art and Education Award, the FOCO ARTRio 2022 Award, and the PIPA 2025 Award. In 2025, she joined the curatorial team of the 14th Mercosul Biennial as an educational curator.

The Artistic Residency "Undisciplined Archives" brings together artists around the historical collection of education in Santa Catarina and its relationships with contemporary art, memory, archives, and institutional critique.
