In function of Pink October, movement in favor of awareness, combat and prevention of breast cancer, the Love and Union Against Cancer (Amucc) promotes the pink walk na Avenida Beira-Mar Norte. The theme of this year's Pink October campaign is "Beat cancer, I support this fight". The walk is open to the public and the organization asks people to wear pink, to show that they support the movement.
