Cine Paredão will show, this Friday, 28/04, an exhibition of short films by director Sara Gómez, and reprise her only feature film, De Cierta Manera. The film is part of the exhibition “THE CUBAN CINEMA OF SARA GÓMEZ”, which is being shown during the month of April. We would be grateful if you publicized the session in your media.

Sara Gómez, also known as Sarita, was a brilliant and precocious Cuban film director. Her first short films are an expression of her vision of the impacts of the Cuban revolution on her home territory. They were released when Sarita was in her 20s: strong and politicized, they are a mark of the time in which she lived. On canvas, the transformations of traditions and values of a Cuba in motion. Although with a diffuse focus, Sarita was interested in observing the role of women in society, which is why her cinema sounds so current to us.
