Cine Paredão aims to socialize, exchange and expand various audiovisual manifestations, seeking alternative and/or independent productions that are difficult for the public to access. The feature shown this time is As I Open My Eyes, directed by Leyla Bouzid. Synopsis: The film takes place in the summer of 2010 in Tunis, Tunisia, a few months before the Jasmine Revolution. As Ben Ali's regime falls, 18-year-old Farah (Baya Medhaffer) joins a politicized rock band and discovers alcohol, love and protest. Going against the wishes of her mother, Hayet (Ghalia Benali), who knows the country's taboos, Farah delves deeper into this world, not suspecting the danger of a political regime that watches over her and infiltrates her privacy. To protect her daughter, Hayet will do whatever it takes, including reliving the wounds of her own youth.
