Programming 30th International Film Festival Florianópolis Audiovisual Mercosul - FAM 2026 The cultural program continues this September 7th holiday with three free screenings at the Álvaro de Carvalho Theater (TAC) in the center of the capital. A total of six films will be shown, including competitive and guest screenings.
The activities for FAM's 30th anniversary, this Monday, begin with the Cinema and City Walk, a tour of Florianópolis's old street cinemas, guided by Guga Andrade — an architect, urban planner, professor, and researcher from Santa Catarina. The route passes by the locations where the traditional São José, Ritz, Coral, and Cecomtur cinemas once operated. Departure is scheduled for 14 PM in front of the TAC and should take 1 hour.
Next, at 15 pm, there will be... FAM Conversations - 40 Years of the Cinematheque of Santa Catarina who will be showing the film Paths of Desire, by Andrey Santiago. The documentary recounts the history of the production and disappearance of The Price of Illusion, the first feature-length fiction film produced in Santa Catarina, in 1957. The screening will be held in partnership with the Cinemateca Catarinense, as part of the commemorative actions for the institution's 40th anniversary.
A Showcases Music Videos, Short Films, and Short Films from Santa Catarina The festival presents four works starting at 18 PM. The films in competition are: the music video Miudinho - Skarimbó, by Babi Baracho; the short films Jemené, by Ernira Bailarín, and Roots, Larissa Nepomuceno; and the short film from Santa Catarina Bagpipes, by Michele Diniz.
Closing the night, at 20 pm, the Showcase Feature Films brings the fiction film Maps, From Rafael Lobo, a fictional film set in the Federal District that moves between historical memory and ghostly narrative. In their search for Rebeca, a missing cycling activist, Júlia and Sérgio traverse a Brasília marked by ruins, silences, and hidden memories. Between the real and the fantastic, the film reveals a city haunted by its own past.
