Next Sunday (29) the witches and all the enchanted and supernatural beings that inhabit Florianópolis will gather at Praça XV for the 3rd Grand Mystical Ball. Postponed twice due to rainy weather, the procession will begin at 15:30 pm, at Largo da Catedral, and will run through the city's streets, leaving from Tenente Silveira to Rua Deodoro and from there towards the Mercado Público, ending with the Show of Valdir Agostinho, in Largo da Alfândega.
The Místico Ball is part of the Cascaes Fair program - October Místico (Fundação Franklin Cascaes/SETUR/PMF) - which will feature gastronomy, a crafts fair and a parade. All programming is free and open to the public.
The proposal is inspired by the legend Baile de Bruxas em Itaguaçu, written by Gelci José Coelho, known as Peninha, and pays homage to all the local artists who dedicated themselves to the theme of myth and magic in Santa Catarina art. In addition to Peninha, Franklin Cascaes and Meyer Filho have already been honored. The number of local artists who dedicated themselves to the theme is large and the tributes should continue for many years. This year, the honored artists are Vera Sabino and Jandira Lorenz.
