In one of the most emblematic spaces, the Metropolitan Cathedral of Florianópolis, the Island String Quintet presents the project Expressions of Brazilian Music.
Marked for Saturday, April 11th, starting at 19:30 PM, In downtown Florianópolis, the event features a string quintet and soloist Marcos Pablo Dalmacio on guitar. Admission is free and on a first-come, first-served basis.
Featuring works by Brazilian composers such as Francisco Braga, Alexandre Levy, Jaime Zenamon, and Heitor Villa-Lobos, the recital explores different periods in Brazilian music.
It also highlights the contemporary production of the work. Four Daytime Sketches – Colorful Impressions of an Urban Day (2026), by Felipe Jacob, commissioned especially for the project.

The recital offers an experience that goes beyond a musical performance, exploring contrasts in language, timbre, and expression, and emphasizing attentive and comprehensive listening to the acoustics and atmosphere of the Cathedral.
In addition, there will also be a rehearsal open to the public. at 16pm, In the same location, which anticipates this experience and brings the public closer to the group's work. Also free and open to the public, it reveals part of the process of building the repertoire and the interpretative choices.
The Expressions of Brazilian Music – Island String Quintet is a cultural project carried out by Buratto Arts, through the Cultural Incentive Program (PIC) of the Government of the State of Santa Catarina, approved by the Santa Catarina Cultural Foundation. It has the support of Floripa.com, the Metropolitan Cathedral of Florianópolis and sponsorship from Bistek.
