A sport born from creativity and a passion for football takes center stage at Pátio Milano this weekend. The venue hosts a special program celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Continente Futmesa group, with tournaments, workshops, and exhibition matches open to the public. Table football, popularly known as button football, originated in Brazil and began as a game in the 1920s and 1930s, when players improvised matches using clothing buttons to simulate football teams. Over time, the practice evolved and gained official rules, becoming a recognized sport in the country.
The program begins on Friday the 27th at 18 PM with an open training session, workshop, and exhibition match for those who want to learn more about table football. On Saturday the 28th, from 13 PM to 20 PM, the Continente Futmesa 10th anniversary tournament will take place, bringing together players of the sport in matches that can be watched by the public. On Sunday the 29th, from 13 PM to 20 PM, the program continues with more training sessions, workshops, and demonstration matches open to visitors.
The event is free and open to the public, who can watch the matches, participate in the activities, and try out table football during the program.
