Launch of the book 'Alto Vale do Itajaí – o Vale dos Papagaios' at Fundação Cultural Badesc

The publication ''Alto Vale do Itajaí - o Vale dos Papagaios”, which will be launched on Thursday, June 20th, from 19pm, at Fundação Cultural Badesc, in Florianópolis, intends to show the path that German immigrant Francisco Frankenberger did so in the region, mainly in the city of Laurentino, and highlighted the influence of indigenous peoples, especially the Kaingangs and the Xoklengs.

The independent publication is the result of a partnership between Associação Ambientalista Pimentão and the University for Development of Alto Vale do Itajaí (Unidavi). With a print run of 500 books and free distribution, the work was launched in March at Unidavi, in Rio do Sul.

Anyone who participates in the event at the Foundation will receive a book, but if you are unable to participate, you can request it via email In this case, shipping costs will be charged to the reader.

The Badesc Cultural Foundation is located at Rua Visconde de Ouro Preto, 216, in the center of Florianópolis. “9 Encontros” by Silvana Macêdo and “Não Há Mais Palavra” by Murilo Leal are on display. Free visits can be made from Monday to Friday, from 13pm to 19pm.

About the Author

Guilherme Carlini Piazera, known in the artistic world as Pique, is a graffiti artist, visual artist and art educator. Born in Laurentino / SC, he is the only graffiti artist in his city, which is a curious fact. He has been involved with art since he was a child, but it was in 2013 that he had his first contact with graffiti and urban art. He became interested in the style of New York graffiti letters and hip-hop culture, starting to use this artistic expression as a tool for socialization, education and perception of identity in the world.

In addition to graffiti spread across several cities in more than 10 Brazilian states, he participates in cultural projects linked to urban art, such as art-education workshops in schools and social and cultural centers and presents his works in collective and individual exhibitions in galleries and museums. . He has already exhibited in the cities of Laurentino, Rio do Sul, Florianópolis and Curitiba / PR. She graduated from the School of Music and Fine Arts of Paraná in the Degree in Visual Arts.
