Japanese Film Festival arrives in Florianópolis next week with free screenings.

Florianópolis will have four days to immerse itself in Japanese cinema. From September 24th to 27th, the Gilberto Gerlach cinema (at the Integrated Culture Center - CIC) will host the 3rd Florianópolis Japanese Film Festival, featuring six feature films and free admission. The program brings together stories that explore tradition, literature, science, human relationships, the environment, and social issues, offering the public a glimpse into different aspects of Japanese culture and society.

The event is organized by the Nipocultura group, a Brazilian project and portal created in 2008 focused on... promoting Japanese culture, in partnership with the Japan Foundation of São Paulo, the Consulate General of Japan in Curitiba, and the JFF Theater.

"The exhibition aims to bring the people of Santa Catarina closer to contemporary Japanese film production and strengthen cultural exchange between Brazil and Japan," explains Hisae Kaneoya, representative of Nipocultura in Santa Catarina.

In addition to the screenings, the program includes discussions on the themes addressed in the works, expanding the space for reflection and exchange with the public. Admission is free. The room will open half an hour before the start of the session, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis; no ticket is required.

TOKUSATSU EXHIBITION

During the same period as the Film Festival, the Museum of Image and Sound (also at the CIC) will host the exhibition "Tokusatsu – The Legacy of Heroes and Kaijuu Facing the Environmental Challenges of the 21st Century," which invites the public to revisit one of the greatest assets of Japanese culture from a new perspective: that protecting the planet is a shared responsibility.
