Premiere March 1st

The premiere of Curta Catarina is scheduled for March 1st, at 20 pm, with the screenings of two famous political episodes transformed into the most awarded shorts in Santa Catarina: “Novembrada” and “Desterro”, both scripted, produced and directed by Eduardo Paredes.

Novembrada, as the episode became known, which took place on Santa Catarina soil, went down in history as a milestone in the process of redemocratization in Brazil. With 21 awards received, the film “Novembrada” is one of the greatest short film productions in the country. There are more than 1.500 extras, a hundred actors from Santa Catarina and Lima Duarte in the anthological interpretation of General João Batista Figueiredo.

“Desterro”, which has in its cast the renowned actors Gracindo Júnior and Luís Mello, brings the drama of two men who hate each other, but are forced to overcome their rivalry in defense of honor and survival. A story that denounces the tragic destiny of a people humiliated and violated to the point of having the name of the city usurped and changed to honor their tormentor. The film received 18 awards and participated in several international festivals.

In addition to Eduardo Paredes, the exhibition will feature the participation of: Marcia Paraíso, Chico Faganello, Fabi Penna, Contraponto, Luíza Lins, Gurcius Gewdner, Vinil Filmes, Cíntia Domitt and Novelo Filmes and Zeca Pires.
