In celebration of World Water Day and the 352nd anniversary of Florianópolis, the Brazilian Nautical Association (Acatmar), in partnership with Mundo Mar, Acquanauta Floripa and several supporters, will hold the first stage of the 2025 Clean Up the Seas project on Campeche beach, in the south of the island. The event will take place on March 22 (Saturday), from 9 am to 12 pm, and will bring together volunteers in yet another environmental preservation and awareness-raising action. The last stage of the project, which ended the 2024 season, resulted in the removal of 8,5 tons of waste from the beaches of Tinguá, Camboa and Fazenda da Armação, in Governador Celso Ramos. With 11 years of operation and 46 editions held, Limpeza dos Mares has already removed 187,5 tons of trash from the seas, beaches, coasts and sandbanks of Santa Catarina.
In addition to the sponsorship of Fort Atacadista, this stage of the Clean Seas also has the institutional support of the Municipality of Florianópolis, the Port Authority of SC – Brazilian Navy, the Environmental Military Police of SC, ICMBio, the Military Fire Department of SC, Bandeira Azul, Floripa Sustentável, Grupo ND and Record. The project also has the support of the companies Marina Blue Fox, Navitec, Netuno Geradores, Sanáutica, Marina Atlântida, Girando Sol and Mano's Comunicação.
