On Thursday, September 19th, the BADESC Cultural Foundation, receives the launch of the book "The Flower of My Garden", from Luiz Claudio Stähelin. The work, which is a fictional novel, will be launched at 19 pm. Entry is free and there will be a time for autographs.
Interested in writing since his youth, the writer, who is from São Pedro de Alcântara and graduated in Administration from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and specialized in Human Resources from Fepese/UFSC, presents the third book of his career.
“I received an invitation to join the Academia Alcantarense de Letras (Acalle) and was encouraged to publish my first book of poems and poetry. "Do Poente Ao Litoral" was released in 2015”, shares the author who released the work "Um Caminho Alemão" in 2017, also of poems and poetry.
As president of Acalle, Luiz Cláudio coordinated the publication of three collections: "On the Paths of Love and Art", "Poetic Nativity" and "My 60 Years". The writer is the author of poems set to music and recorded on CD, with emphasis on the poem "Caminho das Tropas".
Fictional historical romance
The 228-page book, with fictional historical narrative, is divided into 21 chapters and published by Autografia Editora, from Rio de Janeiro.
According to the author, the plot unfolds from the Spanish Invasion of Santa Catarina Island in 1777 and tells the story of the first black quilombola families who escaped from the slave quarters and took refuge in the woods along the path of the troops between the old Desterro and Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres das Lages. This was before the settlement of the first German colonists in 1829, in São Pedro de Alcântara.
“The BADESC Cultural Foundation is a great reference and a space that stands out for its magnitude, location, prestige and respect in society and in the art, literature and culture communities in general. Launching the book in this space is a dream come true. I am very happy to be selected among so many who also aspire to be in such a select cultural space”, adds the author.
