This Thursday there is another edition of Indie Box, on Gus' beer with special Arctic Monkeys + DJ Jean Mafra. Jean Mafra composes, sings, produces and DJs. He created Samambaia Sound Club (of which he was vocalist and composer between 2003 and 2010). He was one of the front men of Clube da Luta, a collective of bands that rocked the Florianópolis scene between 2006 and 2009.
Located in Córrego Grande, close to the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Chopp do Gus stands out for its cozy, tavern-style atmosphere and its exclusive decor, consisting of paintings, caricatures, records and posters of rock celebrities. The place is very popular with young people, mainly because it is in a university neighborhood and contains live music, food and special cocktails in a single location.
On the menu, the exclusive portions with flambé dishes are successful; the alcoholic tip is the special drink of the house, the Diabo Verde, but drink it in moderation. The bar also specializes in Brahma draft beer, recognized by the Real Academia do Chopp certificate, and also has a harmonious and varied wine list.
