Screening of the film The Tale of Princess Kaguya – Children's Cineclube

O Children's Cineclub of the Integrated Cultural Center (CIC) starts the year by showing Japanese animation for free The Tale of Princess Kaguya, directed by Isao Takahata,

Film Synopsis: The animated feature film is based on the Japanese folk tale “The Bamboo Cut”. Kaguya was a tiny baby when she was found inside a glowing bamboo trunk. Over time, she turns into a beautiful young woman who becomes coveted by 5 nobles, including the Emperor himself. But none of them are what she really wants. The girl sends her suitors on seemingly impossible tasks to try to avoid marrying a stranger she doesn't love. But Kaguya will have to face her fate and her punishment for her choices.
