O AF Award for Contemporary Art 2020, considered one of the most relevant in the Santa Catarina arts calendar, has inscriptions open between October 7th and November 8th. In its seventh edition, the award will recognize the trajectory of artists from the State with contemporary production. The three finalists will win French language scholarships and will exhibit their work in a group exhibition at the BADESC Cultural Foundation, scheduled for December and January. As is tradition, the winner will undertake an artistic residency for three months at the prestigious International City of Arts, in Paris.
Artists of all ages and who live in Santa Catarina can apply using the form online available on the website of the French Alliance of Florianópolis.
As in the last edition, the AF 2020 Award will recognize the trajectory of artists, and not just a specific work. Therefore, the evaluation of proposals will be based on the portfolio presented, which can vary from 10 to 30 works produced in any technique, from drawing to printing, installation to performance, etc. In addition to the selection of works, candidates must submit a biography and a note on the creative process.
