Performance by Lia Rodrigues Dance Company (Rio de Janeiro), part of the Florianópolis Cultural Marathon 2026 program.
“Encantado” is also the title of a work by the Lia Rodrigues Dance Company, begun in the context of the health crisis caused by Covid-19. The choice of the name stemmed from the desire to use magic and enchantment as guides to navigate this dramatic moment we are experiencing in Brazil.
How can we overcome our fears and connect with the collective, bringing us closer to one another?
How can we enchant what surrounds us—images, dances, and landscapes—and transform them into our bodies and ideas?
How do we, and the environment, fit together in varied arrangements?
How can we encounter living beings in all their diversity, creating agglomerations and groupings, engendering entities that enchant and disenchant themselves in an endless cycle?
