Jurerê Beach Village, a hotel located in Jurerê Internacional (Jurerê in_), Florianópolis, was chosen as the official home of the Jurerê Marathon | Hospital SOS Cárdio 2024 - one of the largest sporting events in the country, which takes place between October 30 and November 3. The competition attracts more than 5 thousand athletes from Brazil and abroad, promotes a wide-ranging program and actions with a positive impact locally, on tourism, the economy and sustainability.
Due to the event, the hotel has an average occupancy rate of 87% this week, an increase of 62% compared to the same period last year, when the event did not take place on the same days and occupancy was 54%. The guests are mainly Brazilian (61%), most of whom come from São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul. Among the foreigners, Chileans and Argentineans predominate. To meet the high demand, the hotel had to increase its staff by hiring 15 temporary workers.
As the official home of the event, the hotel has prepared a large structure and will host the Village Army Marathon, with a program of content and activities. It began on Wednesday (30) with the delivery of kits and the opening of the exhibition. It will continue until Sunday with talk shows, activities for children, training, a meeting of champions, musical shows, and a special pasta dinner.
The IL Campanario hotel, which is also located in Jurerê Internacional, is also benefiting from the competition. Occupancy is around 94%, well above the 2023% recorded in the same period in 54, an increase of 73%. Together, the two hotels will receive more than 500 guests during the period, who will have an average stay of 3 days.
With 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km courses, the Jurerê Marathon has in its very DNA the concern for the environmental impacts that man leaves on nature. On the 31st, at 14pm, a beach clean-up will be held in Jurerê Internacional, promoted by the Dazumbanho Project in partnership with the Habitasul Group and the Maple Bear school, involving children from the community.
With the Marathon, Jurerê Internacional is further consolidating its position as a destination for major sports competitions, boosting tourism and promoting the city on the national and international scene. In addition to attracting a large audience, the event brings opportunities for commerce and the services sector in Jurerê Internacional and the surrounding area, from restaurants and shops to transportation and accommodation services.
