Lira Tennis Club will hold a tribute on September 9th in its iconic main hall to the women who have been part of the club's history as Queens of Lira. This unprecedented gathering is part of the special centennial program and will bring together, so far, 31 representatives from different generations. Some Queens have not yet been identified or located by the club, and others are no longer with us.
“The evening will be marked by reunions and the rediscovery of cherished memories for the Lira family. The tributes will symbolically extend to all the women who have represented the club, whether or not they are present at the event, including those who are no longer with us,” says Carlos Eduardo Ferrari Cardoso, president of the Lira Tennis Club.
In addition to the presence of the current Queen of Lira, Bianca Zomer Kunkel, the current Queen of Carnival, Cátia Stanck, will also be present at the event, as the Queens of Carnival will also be honored during the evening. The event will also mark the announcement of the new Queen of Lira, who will continue the tradition and represent the club from 2026 to 2028. The new Queen will officially receive the sash during the 100th Anniversary Ball in October.
