Why is Floripa called the Magic Island? Was this island populated by witches? How did witches fly? Taking advantage of the theme in which Florianopolitans are inserted, the lecture Witchcraft Molecules, with the teacher Edson Minatti, makes the participants know the substances used in witchcraft. Exploring the elixirs and potions used by the Witches of the Middle Ages, it is seen how phytochemistry and experimental techniques of chemistry were present in this universe. In addition to exposing the ingredients used by witches, neurochemistry is also used to understand the mechanism of action of these substances. The lecture is held at the Chemistry Auditorium of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC).
