The 11th season of Sixth Jazz AF starts on Friday (15) and celebrates a star of pop music and contemporary jazz: Norah Jones. As is already traditional, the show will be presented on a stage set up on Floor G2 (parking lot) of the Villa Romana Shopping, at 20pm. Free entrance.

For the show, Sexta Jazz AF will have a quartet formed by Tie Pereira on the bottom, Thomas Pessoa on guitar, Yves Tanuri on the keyboards and Narcizo Farias on the battery. To perform some of the North American pianist and composer's main hits, the project will have singer Jessica Pereira as a guest. She is the daughter of Ravi Shankar (1920-2012), an Indian musician considered one of the most important sitarists in the world.

At 44 years old, Norah Jones has a career honored with several Grammys. Her music is considered avant-garde for combining elements of pop, folk and blues that interact with jazz and jazz improvisation.

The singer from Florianópolis Jessica Pereira she was invited to perform the songs precisely because she had already been part of other tributes to the North American pianist and because she had phrasing, in musical jargon, very similar to Norah Jones.
