Shopping Itaguaçu invites musician Ney Platt to lead the programming of the Itaguaçu + Música project, with lots of Bossa Nova and Jazz, on September 14th and 15th. The performances will start from 18pm to 21pm, Saturday, in the Food Court on Floor L1 and Sunday, in the Food Court on Floor L2. Both performances are free and open to the public.
Bossa Nova, created in the late 1950s in Rio de Janeiro, combines samba with elements of American jazz, standing out for its smooth rhythm and sophisticated harmonies. Created by artists such as João Gilberto, Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes, it gained international prominence, especially after the release of "The Girl from Ipanema". Jazz, a genre that originated in the United States in the early XNUMXth century, was influenced by African and European traditions, and its main characteristic is improvisation and complex rhythms. Over the years, jazz has evolved into different subgenres, such as bebop and cool jazz, becoming one of the pillars of global popular music.
Ney Platt is a musician and pedagogue from São José who has been playing saxophonist and flutist in Santa Catarina for 42 years. He was a solo saxophonist in the Santa Catarina Symphony Orchestra (OSSCA) and has collaborated on several albums by local artists. Awarded the best instrumentalist musician award at FEMIC 2007, Platt is also a composer, with works that encompass genres such as bossa nova, choro and MPB. He currently dedicates his time to performing at events and to music education.
