
The Santa Catarina Symphony Orchestra (OSSCA) presents the Tina Turner Symphonic Special. The show in honor of the "Queen of Rock" has as its main star the singer and performer Mércia Maruk. Artistic direction and conducting by Maestro José Nilo Valle.
Integrated into the 2024 season, the event highlights our guest Mércia Maruk. A native of Santa Catarina and born in Florianópolis, "Mel" is the best-known female voice on the Santa Catarina music scene. Owner of a powerful instrument, the singer started singing from a very young age and hosted many parties in Santa Catarina and southern Brazil.
He began his career at the age of 6 performing international hits, at the age of 10 he participated in his first festival, he joined the Coral São Sebastião that same year where he remained for two years, where his father was and still is a conductor, at the age of 14 he discovered his professional career with Banda Primeira Linha, in 1993, at the age of 17 she joined the band Lugphil, where she stayed for three years and then was hired by the band Zawajus, one of the biggest dance bands in the south of the country, where she worked for 5 years, with enormous success and public acceptance. During this period he also participated with the bands Backstreet Band (renowned soul band), Primavera nos dentes, Homem tribal, Imigrant, Carne Viva, among others, all very well-regarded bands from Florianópolis, in addition to working in bars, with local musicians. In 2000, she participated in the musical show Lendas da Ilha, by Oswaldo Montenegro, participating in all the theatrical and musical aspects, playing a prominent role in the play, having her talent recognized by Oswaldo himself and his production.
