A Brazilian Orchestra from Florianópolis, will present the show “Samba Women”, bringing together four great female voices from Santa Catarina: Juliana D Passos, Camélia Martins, Jandira Rosa and Bárbara Damásio. The event, which will take place on March 6 at the Ademir Rosa Theater (CIC), is a tribute to the main composers and performers of Brazilian samba, with a repertoire that spans decades. Under the baton of maestro Luiz Gustavo Zago, the orchestra will feature 16 musicians and exclusive arrangements, bringing a new approach to classics of the genre.
The show will be a gift to the female audience, in celebration of International Women's Day, and an opportunity to relive hits by iconic artists such as Elizeth Cardoso, Elza Soares, Clara Nunes, Elis Regina, Bethânia and Marisa Monte, as well as contemporary names such as Maria Rita and Roberta Sá. The singers will take turns on stage, sometimes solo, sometimes in duos and quartets, exploring different vocal nuances. The fusion of percussion and traditional samba instruments with the sophistication of classical music promises a unique and exciting experience.
The show, which is in its third edition since its creation in 2022, will bring new compositions to the repertoire, including compositions by Clementina de Jesus, Beth Carvalho and Gal Costa. In addition, fans will be able to follow exclusive content about the singers and those honored on the Orquestra Brasileira's social media channels. The musical direction is by Luiz Gustavo Zago, a renowned pianist and conductor, who has worked with great names in Brazilian music and is a member of important orchestras in the country. Tickets are now available at Blueticket, with free admission for wheelchair users.
