Nubia[Name], a leading figure in Maranhão reggae and one of the rising stars of the new Brazilian music scene, brings his album "Sabores" to Florianópolis this Saturday, April 18th. The show will take place at Bar DeRaiz and is part of a tour supported by [organization name]. Natura Musical 2026 Call for Proposals.
In her work, the artist from Maranhão brings her perspectives as a Black woman and LGBTQIAPN+ person to reggae, building a unique sound that also carries references from other strands of Black music, such as rap and soul music. "Sabores," her first studio album, was critically acclaimed and took Núbia to the stages of the Psica Festival (PA), Circo Voador (RJ), among others.
The series of performances was born from Núbia's desire to connect her sound with territories that, in different ways, already dialogue with her artistic path and research. The tour is also driven by the desire to learn more deeply about other cultural scenes and create new connections through the dissemination of Brazilian reggae.
The show in Florianópolis takes place at Root Bar, with the venue scheduled to open at 22 PM.
