After performing in Joinville, dancer Leticia Souza arrives in the capital on May 2nd, with the dance solo “A Pequena Monstra: o return”. Co-directed by her and Neto Machado, the work brings to the scene a reflection of the memories of grief and struggles experienced by the artist and which in many moments are confused with the story of everyone watching.
The presentations are linked to the Project A Pequena Monstra: Circulation and Diffusion, this cultural proposal being carried out with resources from the Government of the State of Santa Catarina, by the Fundação Catarinense de Cultura [FCC], through the Elisabete Anderle Prize for Stimulating Culture – Edition 2023.
The show presents a dance that uses the episodes experienced by the artist to reverberate in her body movement. “It is by looking at each memory that we are able to transform our movements, understand our existence and share our reflections with the world, starting to look more lightly at the present and future”, comments Letícia.
In Florianópolis, the presentations promise to be moments of encounter with this unique artistic expression. At Espaço 1 of Ceart - Udesc, located at Av. Me. Benvenuta, 1907, Itacorubi, the performances will take place next Thursday, May 2nd, at 10am and 16pm, with free tickets, available one hour before each session at the reception of the space. Classification is free, inviting everyone to dive into this enriching experience.
On the 3rd, a special closed session for teenagers will take place at Cedep, followed by a conversation mediated by Paula Gotelip, a doctoral student in art for children and youth. This opportunity not only offers a unique artistic experience, but also opens up space for reflections on the role of women in art and the creative processes behind the show.
